A Sports Lovers Paradise

When you walk into Quakers Steak & Lube, you see the rare antique cars and the fresh, vibrant smell of buffalo wings throughout the sports bar.  While we were waiting for a table all I could do was look at the incredible atmosphere that any sports fan would love. Steak & Lube includes a bunch of tables and a big bar with an incredible amount of televisions to watch your favorite sports team. The walls were filled with antiques like cars and pictures. The thing that kept making me question myself was "how did they hang up a car to the wall." That's what makes Steak & Lube a fun experience to not only eat a great meal but to sit down and watch the game.

Steak & Lube is a well known sports bar in Bloomsburg, but did you know it didn't actually start in Bloomsburg. Steak & Lube was originally founded in 1974 in Sharon, PA. The waitress explained "The reason all the cars and pictures are there is because the whole restaurant was built around the culture of old cars and gas stations." When I asked about there famous wings the waitress stated " The owners visited a place in buffalo and fell in love with wings." In the restaurant you can see old pictures of Steak & Lube shown being a "make your own" steak restaurant. Now they are known for their wide variety of food and their famous wings.

When our waitress sat us down and gave us their stacked menu full of many different food options, all I could feel was excitement. The menu includes wings, salads, soups, burgers, and many tasty options. I settled for their well known buffalo wings and fries. While we waited for the food we checked out their little arcade section that included claw machines and race games. When the food arrived I could feel my mouth watering and my stomach grumbling. When I dove into the wings all I could think was "would it be bad to put in another order." I made it about half way through the twenty delicious wings when I slowly regretted my thought as I needed a to-go box because it was just too much food. To wash down the wings I got their signature homemade lemonade.

When we finally got full the waitress came over with the check and then asked "are you guys students." She asked that because the waitress herself is a student. I asked how she balances working here and being a student and she replied "The scheduling here is great and very flexible" she also added "There are many students that also work here, and I haven't heard one complaint." It's clear that the staff is very caring and just want what's best for the customers. Nobody thought an old fashion, steak restaurant would turn into a staple sports bar. When we walked out the staff was all smiles and ready to serve more customers.
