Cats in Bloom

   

   Walking into the cat café was a very warm and welcoming environment. The lady there gave a greeting when someone walked on the door and explained how the place worked and what needed to be done while someone was there. This was genuinely nice and helped to build an understanding of what was to be expected of by someone while they were there. The lady then explained the different room and what age of cats living in each room. This was helpful to understand where we wanted to start in the place. We chose the kitten room to start in. The kitten room was small but had many playful cats in it. It felt like a wonderful place to start because the cat would be very playful and gave a good understanding of how the play worked.

  As you walk into the kitten room, you will notice the room is quite smaller than the other room. As the door opens there are kittens all over the room, some are sleeping and other ones are playing with a lady sitting on the bench. But there was one kitten that was laying on her lap. The lady looked over, as the door was opening and smiled at who walked into the kitten room. Well, looking up at the pictures of the kittens in the room and you can identify which kitten is who. When you looked down there was kitten nearby. The kitten looks scared to come near the three people and after a little while the kitten caution explored the environment. The kitten had enough courage to go on the lady on bench lap and just sat there. For a few minutes everything was silent. Then there was a big sneeze for the kitten

sitting on the lady lap and she tried not to scream to not scare the kittens but that didn’t work that well. So, the kittens got spooked and hid under the bench. The women started to laugh about the sneeze and she said, “I can see the kitten boogers on my thighs!”. Then she looked down and saw one of the kittens playing with her shoestrings. As that happened, one of the volunteers, Elena, asked you if you would like to go to a different room.

  The room was right next to the kitten room, it seemed like there were no cats there. Elena was saying there were cats in there, but they were hiding because they just came back from their foster home. As you looked in the room it only had a desk and chair and few toys, food and water for the cats. While sitting down Elena was saying there were three cats, but when you looked like there were only two cats. She decides to pick on the cats hiding in. Elena picked one up and handed it to this girl named Gwen. Gwen didn’t know what to do in this situation and let go of the cat. Elena said that she would be right back cause she had to help some other people. During that time, the three cats were slowly making progress and getting closer to the individuals in the room. A girl picked up a toy and started to play with two of the cats and one of the cats was still too scared of the humans in the room. The cats were still playing, then another volunteer had to walk though, and all the cats got scared again and ran back to where they started in the corner. The cats came out fast this time but then Elena came back and sat in the chair. Elena said confidently, “I have been volunteering sense 2019 when the cat café opened”. She loves to volunteer here because she loves cats and loves to education people what they do at the cat cafe and the cat in bloom will take in any fosters who come in. after talking to her, she said if you wanted to visit the teenage cat room.

 Walking down the stairs, there is a bigger room full of all ages of cats. a few cats were a couple sitting on the coach and two friend hangouts. The door opened to enter all the people looking over at the door and a few cats wanted out of the room too. After settling down, a cat was playing with backpack, and someone was worried that it was going to eat it. Also, one of the men started to play with a few of the cats and he had grabbed a toy. After a few minutes there were cats running around and jumping up in the air going crazy. Elena came back into the room, and someone asked Elena who her favorite cat was. Her response to that was “I love all the cats but if I had to pick one it would be Missy right now and she is in adult cat room.” Gwen also asked Elena has there been any medical issue with the cats. Elena replies by “one of cats from last year got hurt and the cat has virus in his leg and later they had to cut off its leg, another one is FIP.” The clock was running out of time because it was almost time to close the café and the cats got feed at 5. As you walked up the stairs with Elena, you asked a few more questions. One of the questions were why was the different between the cats with tipped ears, she claimed that “tipped ear means

trapped and neutered and they can be feral or strays and there is different of the two.”, “Feral cats never had human touch and stray cats had some form of human touch.” You looked up and got idea to ask her why the cat café started. Elena responded proudly “it all started because the SPCA was a kill shelter until few years go and why they started cats in bloom
