If you aren't interested in hot meals or prepared foods, then the fresh section in the middle of the store is the best option for you. The cold area has all kinds of meats, fresh vegetables, and ripe fruits. This section has a large amount of 3 of these options. Daily brought in fruits from all around the country, fresh oranges, locally grown apples, and transported melons. When walking around this section, you'll see that all of the fruits that need to be maintained cold have their own storage with a fridge running to keep them cold. Moving towards the fresh vegetables, these also have their own area to keep refrigerated. They have sprinklers running on a timer that always keep them cold and fresh, when exploring the store and a question arises in your brain, you can simply walk up to one the workers and ask. "Could you help me find the fresh tomatoes?" The worker responds "Of course follow me!" As you and the worker are walking towards the fresh tomatoes, he says to you "It's kind of funny you ask me where the tomatoes are because, one time a customer asked me where they were and it was my first week of working here and I didn't know where they were. So I ended up taking them on a goose chase around the produce section until we found them."

Once you are done wandering the store for what groceries you needed. You head toward the checkout lines choosing between a normal register or self-checkout. Either option you choose you'll be greeted with a smile and energetic employee. The first thing said to you as you get in line is "Hello, how are you today." Depending on how you answer will determine whether you get the full customer service or not. If you don't respond, then the cashier will go through the motions of asking if you'd like any bags or if you have your own bags. Then they will start to scan your items and bag them. If you answer back with "I'm doing good, how are you today?" Then you and the cashier will have a conversation back and forth talking about whatever you talk about. You bring up the fact that the customer service is amazing at this store and the cashier responds with "Whenever you shop here you get our best, but sometimes when people are in a rush or not willing to talk it makes it hard for us to give them our best." Answering back with "How would people not want to have a smile here, everyone is so nice and cheerful." The cashier quickly says, "Some people are just not cheerful people or always in a talkative mood that day." As your items start to dwindle on the belt and placed back into your cart you prepare to pay for the items. When you are all done with this you are reminded from the cashier to have a good day and you respond back with "Thank you, you have a good day as well!"
As you are walking out and reflecting on your trip to Wegman's you are thinking to yourself "Wow what an amazing store and great time that I had." You walk back to your car and load up your groceries and walk back your cart, you are greeted with another worker that is pulling in carts saying, "I'll grab that cart for you." "Thank you very much." you answer back and walk away. You hop in your car and drive away with a wonderful experience.![]() |
